How can I use the sun's rays to my advantage? Can the sun make me feel better?

Actually, you can use the sun to your advantage by spending at least 10 minutes outdoors on sunny days although you want to avoid the hottest sunlight from 11 am to 3 pm. Studies show a direct link between certain autoimmune diseases, including thyroid conditions, and low levels of vitamin D.

The article explains how peaks of autoimmune disease occur in years in which the sun's intensity is erratic. By avoiding extreme temperatures you can help reduce this variability. You'd never want to burn or be exposed to very high temperatures, and you definitely want to avoid tanning beds. Hope this helps, Elaine
