- I need some answers please. Hashimoto's and hypothyroid
Hi, Im 34 and since the age of 18 have felt extream lethargy, fluctuations in weight, times of depression (although im generally a happy fun person)I have been to my GP on numerous occations over the years only to be told lethargy could be 101 things Your probrably a bit stressed.
Well now I am stressed but as a result of this problem. In Jan this year I became quite ill with dissy spells, nausea and a swollen stomach, I went to my GP as I thought I might have been pregnant dispite doing 2 pregnany tests that were -ve, he felt my stomach and said he was baffled as to what it might be as he said it didn't feel right. I went for a scan on the ovaries and uterus which were fine. I then had blocked ears which doc said needed to be syringed - this took 4weeks as I have ear canals like a baby, I put the nausea down to the blocked ears, but the GP said this was not the case? still no answer to whats wrong. Eventually my ears were unblocked and the nausea was only mild, I then developed a blocked lymph node under my jaw line, my GP run some bloods, that came back with a Boarder Line TFT, I was sent for an appointment with ENT doc, whom said he thinks i have stones in the lymph node, I mentioned about the TFT results and he said he would scan the thyroid when he scans the lymph node. I have just been back to ENT 2 wks ago and he said I had Hashimoto's thyroiditis with episodes of hypothyroid as a result, he said he would do another TFT and FT4. I have today got the results which came back normal, my GP wont treat me as they are normal although I still have all the symptoms I still cant shift 9-10lb in weight I gained, still lethargic, foggy head, low sex drive, and im still getting times that i am have nausea, dizzy spells and bad headaches now.
I must add I have had 2 children with both pregnancies (although had bad sickness throughout) I felt fantastic more energy, more alert, I also lost weight after both and was around 14lb lighter than I am now. I have a small frame and am slight so I do feel when I say to the doc's I have gained weight the shrug it off because of this. HELP I NEED SOME SUGGESTIONS AS TO WHAT TO DO NEXT. Im fed up with feeling like half a person.
