General MedicineHashimoto's Thyroid

You have a right to copies of your laboratory results. Get these copies and post your results so I can see if all the tests needed were done. You should have had an FT4, FT3, TSH and tests for thyroid antibodies. There's some debate about treating hypothyroidism and more and more doctors are realizing that the TSH range used by most labs is too low, and that when thyroid antibodies are present, treatment is often needed even when TFT results are normal or within range. The medical offices you went to should be able to fax you or provide you with copies of your results. If you had your tests done at a hospital lab you can go to the tmedical records department to get copies. Best, Elaine
