Hello I have had the above condition active for 15 years now. I did have it aged 29 for one year, but it was not diagnosed correctly. This was in 1975,and I suggested to the specialist at that time, that I personally thought I had cicraticial pemphigoid, he laughed of course, but little did he know how very close I was to the diagnosis!
This second breakout occurred again aged 45.
Liga Epidermolysis Bullosa Aquisita presents like a very severe form of Linear Iga Disease, but with more pronounced mucosal involvement. This condition has devasted my life. It has totally blinded me, and I am anxious that other bullous disease sufferers understand that all bullous disease can possibly affect these tissues, and therefore regular inspection by an ophthalmologist is essential, because there can be immuno-deposits in the eyes in the abscence of any obvious symptoms.
I would like to converse with anyone who may have linear Iga Disease.

Hi,

Thanks for writing. I hope you hear from others too. I'll research this condition and see if I can find any new studies. Best, Elaine
